Loveyapa Box Office Day 1 (Early Trends): Junaid Khan’s Film Takes a Strong Start

Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s film Loveyapa has had a slow start at the box office, even though it received good reviews. This romantic comedy is the first theatrical release for both star kids, but its earnings have been lower than expected.

Interestingly, Junaid Khan has beaten Kiran Rao for the second time with his debut film. Loveyapa, directed by Advait Chandan, had a better opening than Kiran Rao’s Laapataa Ladies, which earned ₹1.02 crore on its first day. Earlier, Junaid’s Bollywood debut Maharaj also got more views on Netflix in its first week compared to Laapataa Ladies!

Opening Day

On its opening day, February 7 (Friday), Loveyapa earned between ₹1.5 – ₹2 crore, according to early trends. The earnings are low because the film is facing competition from Himesh Reshammiya’s Badass Ravi Kumar and other Valentine’s re-releases.

It will be interesting to see if Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor’s Loveyapa can beat the opening collection of Azaad. Aaman Devgan and Rasha Thadani’s film earned ₹1.5 crore on its first day at the box office.

Loveyapa is the second film for both Junaid and Khushi. Junaid made his debut in 2024 with Yash Raj Films’ Maharaj, which was released on Netflix. Khushi Kapoor, on the other hand, made her debut in 2023 with The Archies, directed by Zoya Akhtar. She starred alongside Suhana Khan and Agastya Nanda in the Netflix film.

With positive word-of-mouth, Loveyapa might gain momentum at the box office over the weekend.
