Ajith Kumar’s much-awaited action thriller, Vidaamuyarchi, is set to make a big impact at the box office. According to advance booking data from Sacnilk, the film has already earned an estimated Rs 18.40 crore in advance bookings.
Starring Ajith Kumar and Trisha Krishnan, Vidaamuyarchi has earned about Rs 15.63 crore just from the Tamil version. The film is inspired by the 1997 American movie Breakdown and tells the story of Arjun, a man who goes on a determined mission to find his wife, Kayal, who mysteriously disappears. During his search, Arjun uncovers dark secrets about a dangerous group in Azerbaijan.
The movie has already sold over 9.64 lakh tickets for its opening day. According to Sacnilk, the highest ticket sales were recorded in Tamil Nadu, followed by Bihar.
With Rs 18.40 crore in advance bookings, Vidaamuyarchi has surpassed Vettaiyan’s opening day advance booking of Rs 18.26 crore but has slightly fallen short of Jailer’s Rs 18.50 crore.
Directed by Magizh Thirumeni, Vidaamuyarchi also features Arjun Sarja and Regina Cassandra in important roles. Initially planned for release during Pongal 2025, the movie’s release was later moved to February 6.
The film’s storyline, focusing on Arjun’s desperate mission to rescue his wife from dangerous enemies, has captured the audience’s interest. Ajith Kumar gives a powerful performance in the lead role, while Arjun Sarja plays the villain, and Trisha Krishnan and Regina Cassandra have key supporting roles.
Story of Movie
After 12 years of marriage, Kayal (Trisha) decides to separate from her husband, Arjun (Ajith). Although hurts, Arjun agrees to take her to her hometown, Tbilisi. During their trip, their car breaks down, and Arjun asks Rakshith (Arjun) and Deepika (Regina Cassandra) to help take Kayal to a nearby restaurant bar while the car gets repaired. When the car is fixed, Arjun returns to pick Kayal up, only to find that she has been kidnapped. Desperate for answers, he asks everyone around, but no one knows anything. Eventually, he tracks down Rakshith and learns that he was behind the kidnapping. Arjun is then forced to follow Rakshith’s dangerous instructions in a race against time to save his wife. Who are these people? Why did they kidnap Kayal? Why did Kayal want a divorce? The movie slowly reveals the answers.
