Relaxation in Upper Age Limit
OBC (NCL): 3 Years
SC/ST Candidates: 5 Years
Civilian Central Government Servants: Employees currently working in central government departments can avail of an age relaxation of up to five years as per existing government instructions.
Ex-Servicemen: They are also eligible for this relaxation.
Maximum Limit: The total age relaxation under government service (including Ex-Servicemen) cannot exceed five years in any case.

Bachelor’s degree in Any Stream from Any Recognized University in India.

How to Apply Online?
Before start of filling-up of application through online mode, the candidates should keep ready the following documents/details:
Valid Email Id and mobile number for proper communication. It suggested to provide personal email id and mobile number.
Scan copy of recent passport size color Photograph (Photo should be recent), signature, experience certificate, mark sheet, cast certificate etc.
Candidates visit the official website of Union Public Service Commission www.upsc.gov.in.
Candidates click on Recruitment.
Under Recruitment Page click on “Registration” and fill the details
Fill all the details and summit. After submitting a Provisional Registration Number and Password will be generated. And same sent to the Candidates mail and SMS.
Candidates will have login with registration number and password.
Candidates have to fill all details carefully and upload some important documents like Photo, signature etc.
After submitting application, automatically redirect to payment page, click on the fee and pay the application fee and take print out the receipt.
After submitting the application, candidates take printout of the application for future reference.

Syllabus of the Written Examination
Paper I: General Ability and Intelligence
This paper consists of objective-type questions with multiple-choice answers, covering the following areas:
General Mental Ability – Tests logical reasoning, quantitative aptitude, numerical ability, and data interpretation.
General Science – Assesses general awareness, scientific temperament, comprehension, and appreciation of scientific phenomena, including emerging fields like Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Environmental Science.
Current Events (National & International) – Covers awareness of significant national and international events in culture, music, arts, literature, sports, governance, societal and developmental issues, industry, business, globalization, and international relations.
Indian Polity & Economy – Examines knowledge of the Indian political system, the Constitution, social systems, public administration, economic development, regional and international security issues, and human rights indicators.
History of India – Covers social, economic, and political aspects of Indian history, including the growth of nationalism and the freedom movement.
Indian & World Geography – Focuses on the physical, social, and economic aspects of geography related to India and the world.
Paper II: General Studies, Essay & Comprehension
Part A (80 Marks) – Essay questions to be answered in Hindi or English. Topics include modern Indian history (especially the freedom struggle), geography, polity, economy, security issues, human rights, and analytical ability.
Part B (120 Marks) – Comprehension and language skills (to be attempted in English only). Topics include comprehension passages, précis writing, counter-arguments, simple grammar, and other aspects of language proficiency.
