Triumph Thruxton 400
Triumph India is preparing to expand its 400cc lineup with the upcoming Thruxton 400, a modern version of the brand’s iconic café racer. Recently seen during testing, the Thruxton 400 blends classic café racer styling with updates for today’s riders.
The bike keeps its signature café racer look, featuring a sleek fairing around the headlight that extends to the fuel tank. It has a round LED headlight inspired by the bigger Thruxton RS, along with clip-on handlebars and bar-end mirrors for a sporty, retro vibe. A single-piece seat with a scooped front and a grab rail add to its classic charm. While its design pays homage to vintage models, the Thruxton 400 is built on the same platform as the Speed 400, sharing elements like the exhaust system.
The Triumph Thruxton 400 will feature a 399cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, the same as Triumph’s other 400cc models. It produces 39.5bhp and 37.5Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed gearbox. Key features include LED lighting, a semi-digital instrument console, traction control, dual-channel ABS, and USB charging ports.
Expected to launch in the first half of 2025, the Thruxton 400 is likely to be priced at around ₹2.50 lakh (ex-showroom), positioned between the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400. It will compete with models like the Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and KTM 390 Duke.
