Petrol and Diesel Price Today (13 April 2025): There has been a big drop in crude oil prices in the past two weeks. Last week alone, crude oil prices went down by around $4 per barrel. This week, prices fell again by $6 per barrel. This means in two weeks, crude oil has become cheaper by $10 per barrel, which is about ₹860 in Indian currency.
Right now, the price of crude oil is close to $60 per barrel. Along with this, oil companies have also released the latest prices of petrol and diesel for 13 April 2025. Let’s take a look at the current fuel prices in major cities across India.
Crude Oil Price in the Futures Market
On Friday, crude oil prices in India’s futures market went up slightly. The price increased by ₹66 to reach ₹5,235 per barrel. This happened on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), where crude oil for delivery in April was traded.
According to market experts, the price increased because traders were buying more oil due to strong demand in the spot market.

West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude: $60.77 per barrel (up by 1.17%)
Brent crude: $64.05 per barrel (up by 1.14%)

As seen above, the highest petrol price is in Patna at ₹105.18 per litre. The lowest petrol price is in Chandigarh at ₹94.24 per litre. Diesel is also cheapest in Chandigarh at ₹82.40 per litre.
Last Price Cut Happened in March 2024
The last time petrol and diesel prices were reduced was on 15 March 2024. On that day, the central government cut the prices of both petrol and diesel by ₹2 per litre. This cut was made just before the Lok Sabha elections.
Since then, prices have remained almost the same in most places, despite changes in international crude oil prices.

Petrol and diesel prices in India are decided and released daily by oil marketing companies (OMCs) like:
Indian Oil Corporation
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation
Bharat Petroleum Corporation
These companies publish updated fuel prices on their websites every morning at 6 AM. You can also check petrol and diesel prices from your home using mobile apps or SMS services provided by these companies.
