Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) is all set to face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in Qualifier 1 of IPL 2025. In 2010, they again reached the semi-final stage but were defeated by Mumbai Indians by 35 runs.
From 2011 onwards, the IPL changed its format to include Eliminator, Qualifier 1, and Qualifier 2. In 2011, RCB had a great season and made it to the final again. But they lost to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) by a huge margin of 58 runs.
The third and most recent time RCB played in the final was in 2016, under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. It was a thrilling game, but they were once again unlucky, losing to Sunrisers Hyderabad by just 8 runs.

In total, Kohli has scored 341 runs in 15 playoff matches, with an average of 26 and a strike rate of 122. These numbers are quite low when compared to his overall IPL performance. Many experts believe that RCB has struggled in the playoffs because its key players, including Kohli, haven’t delivered big performances when the team needed them the most.
