The teaser for Akka, a highly anticipated web series starring Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte, was released on Monday. It was unveiled at Netflix’s grand event, Next on Netflix, where the platform announced its upcoming projects for 2025. Akka is a revenge thriller filled with intense drama, featuring a gripping showdown between the two talented actors.

At a major Netflix event in Mumbai, the first-look clip of Akka, starring Keerthy Suresh and Radhika Apte, was unveiled. Along with Akka, other exciting trailers and teasers were also showcased.
Set in the 1980s in the fictional South Indian city of Pernuru, Akka tells the story of a matriarchal society where women hold all the power. It follows the rise of gangster queens whose rule is threatened by an outsider, leading to a violent battle for survival.
Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, shared his excitement about the project, saying, “After the success of The Romantics, The Railway Men, Maharaj, and Vijay 69, *we are thrilled to present two of our most ambitious projects—*Mandala Murders and Akka. Directed by Dharmaraj Shetty and produced by YRF Entertainment, Akka features a talented cast, including Keerthy Suresh, Radhika Apte, and Tanvi Azmi.
Keerthy Suresh was last seen in Atlee’s Baby John, where she made her Bollywood debut alongside Varun Dhawan and Wamiqa Gabbi. In December 2024, she married her longtime partner, Antony Thattil. Radhika Apte, who last appeared in the 2024 film Merry Christmas, also had a special milestone—she and her husband, Benedict Taylor, welcomed their first child.
