MS Dhoni’s Best Knock – 84 vs RCB (2019)

Even though Dhoni’s highest score of 84 not out came in a losing cause, it was one of his most thrilling innings.

In the 2019 IPL match against RCB, CSK was chasing 162 runs. They were in trouble early on, losing 4 wickets for just 28 runs. Dhoni walked in and started rebuilding the innings. He formed key partnerships with Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, and Dwayne Bravo to bring CSK back into the game.

In the final over, CSK needed 26 runs to win. Dhoni, facing Umesh Yadav, smashed:

1 four

3 sixes

A quick double

With 2 runs needed off the last ball, CSK still had a chance. However, Shardul Thakur was run out, and RCB won by just 1 run.

Despite the loss, Dhoni’s innings was outstanding. He hit 5 fours and 7 sixes, finishing with a strike rate of 175. It was a true example of his ability to fight till the end.
