A huge fire broke out in the Maha Kumbh Mela area on Sunday due to a cylinder explosion, police said. Thankfully, there have been no reports of any casualties so far.
“Two cylinders exploded in Sector 19 of the Maha Kumbh Mela, causing a big fire in the camps. Firefighters are working to put out the blaze,” said Bhaskar Mishra, In-charge of Akhara Police Station.
The official Maha Kumbh 2025 X account posted, “Very sad! The fire at Maha Kumbh has shocked everyone. The administration is making sure relief and rescue operations are underway. We pray to Maa Ganga for everyone’s safety.”
