Mahindra Set to Launch New SUV in India
Mahindra and Mahindra is one of the biggest commercial and passenger vehicle companies in our country. Mahindra already has many models in the market that are available in both diesel and petrol versions. Every model from Mahindra is in high demand, like Scorpio, Bolero, and Thar.
In the coming months, Mahindra is planning to launch new SUV models. Some of these will be facelift versions of existing models that are already popular in the market, and some will be completely new electric SUVs.
I want to tell you that Mahindra has already launched the BE 6 and XEV 9e in the market, and their deliveries have also started. These electric vehicles are getting a good response from the market because they have great looks and features.
In this article, we will talk about Mahindra’s upcoming electric SUVs, and I will try to give you as much information as possible.
Let’s start by talking about Mahindra Thar.
Mahindra THAR Facelift
Mahindra THAR already available in Petrol and Diesel version. THAR is very popular among the young generation. THAR is also known as for off-road riding. Mahindra THAR has been launch in the Indian market before 5 year back. Mahindra now launch THAR facelift and its code name is W515 and this is under development. We can except that THAR face lift will launch in the Indian Market in next year.
Its design and interior updates will be inspired by the Thar Roxx – which is the 5-door version of the Thar. As for the engine and gearbox, it is expected to continue with the current petrol and diesel options.
And if we will talk about the engine and Gearbox then it will come on petrol and diesel version.
Mahindra XUV700 Facelift
If we will talk about Mahindra XUV700, then this model has been launch in 2021. Now this model almost 4 years old now it’s time to bring its facelift in the market. Company planning to launch facelift version of Mahindra XUV700 in the market. And its code name is W616 and it will be launch in 2026 in Indian Market.
Its design and interior will be inspired by the BE 6 and XEV 9e and cabin also be based on this EVs. Mechanically it will be same and engine & Gear box will be based on existing model.
Mahindra XUV 3XO EV
Mahindra all set to launch new SUV in the home market. Mahindra are preparing to launch XUV 3XO EV in the market in end of this year 2025.
It has been seen many times during testing across the country. According to the spy images, there won’t be many design changes except for some EV-specific badging. This SUV will be positioned below the XUV400 and will directly compete with the Tata Nexon EV. It may come with two battery options:
34.5 kWh battery with a range of 350+ km
39.4 kWh battery with a range of 450+ km
Mahindra XEV 7e
Mahindra is preparing to launch the XEV 7e to expand its range of born-electric SUVs. This SUV will also be based on the INGLO platform, just like the BE6 and XEV 9e. It is expected to be launched in early 2026. Some pictures of the SUV have already been leaked online, but there is no official information yet about its interior and technical specifications. It may come with two battery pack options – 59 kWh and 79 kWh – and could offer a range of over 500 km on a full charge. Its expected price is between ₹20-25 lakh (ex-showroom).
Mahindra Thar Electric
Mahindra is also working on a fully electric version of its popular SUV, the Thar. The company revealed the Thar.e concept in August 2023 and has now started developing the production version. This electric Thar will be based on a modified version of the INGLO platform. It will have a longer wheelbase and higher ground clearance. The battery pack will be placed under the floor of the vehicle and it could offer a range of 400-500 km on a full charge. More details will be revealed soon.
