Educational Qualification
To be eligible for the engagement of Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS), candidates must meet the following educational qualifications:
10th Standard Pass Certificate:
Candidates must have passed the Secondary School Examination (10th standard) with passing marks in Mathematics and English.
The examination should be conducted by a recognized Board of School Education under the Government of India, State Governments, or Union Territories.
Local Language Requirement:
The applicant must have studied the local language of the concerned postal circle at least up to the 10th standard from a recognized board.
A detailed list of post-wise prescribed local languages is provided in Annexure-III.
Other Qualification
Candidates should have knowledge of Computer/Cycling/Adequate means of livelihood.

How to Apply Online?
Before start of filling-up of application through online mode, the candidates should keep ready the following documents/details:
- Valid Email Id and mobile number for proper communication. It suggested to provide personal email id and mobile number.
Scan copy of recent passport size colour Photograph (Photo should be recent), signature etc.
Step by Step guide to Apply Online
- Candidates visit the official website of “Indian Post Office” https://indiapostgdsonline.gov.in/.
Click on ‘Registration’ under Stage 1 Registration.
Fill all required details, including name, date of birth, and contact details for one-time registration.
After that a provisional Registration number and password will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen and same send to Email Id and Mobile Number.
After registration come back to home page and click on “Apply” under Stage 2 Apply Online.
Candidates fill all the details and Upload all required documents like photo, Signature, certificate etc.
Submit the details and pay the application fee through Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI/Internet banking.
After the payment review the application and click on final submit.
After submitting the application, candidates take printout of the application for future reference.
