An FIR has been filed in Mumbai against YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, social media influencer Apoorva Makheja, comedian Samay Raina, and the organizers of the show India’s Got Talent for making offensive comments about parents and women.

The case was registered at Khar Police Station after a complaint by Bombay High Court advocate Ashish Rai. Following the controversy, Ranveer Allahbadia apologized for his remarks.

Ranveer Allahbadia is a well-known social media influencer. In 2024, Prime Minister Narendra Modi honored him at the National Creators Awards in Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam. He received the Disruptor of the Year Award.

When the controversy escalated, Allahbadia apologized

“My comment was inappropriate and not funny at all. Comedy is not my genre, and I just want to say sorry. Many people asked if I would use my platform in this way, and my answer is—absolutely not. I don’t want to justify what happened; I just want to apologize. I made a mistake in judgment, and what I said was not cool. I have asked the makers to remove the insensitive part of the video. As a fellow human, I hope you can forgive me.”

CM Fadnavis said - it is wrong to run the show in an ugly manner

Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis said on Monday, “I have received information about this. However, I have neither watched nor listened to the show. I have heard that it is being conducted in an inappropriate manner, which is completely wrong.

Freedom of speech is for everyone, but our freedom ends when we infringe on someone else’s rights. This is not acceptable. There are certain boundaries, and we have set rules against obscenity. If anyone crosses those limits, action will be taken against them.”

Advocate Ashish said – earning money by commenting on women is a crime

According to Dainik Bhaskar report, He said, “The video from the show contains disrespectful remarks about women. People present in the video were seen laughing at these comments, which clearly shows that they did not intend to show respect towards women.”

According to him, the purpose of such videos is only to gain popularity. “By making offensive comments about women, these people are trying to earn money through online platforms. This is a serious offense. Making inappropriate statements against any section of society is legally wrong, especially when such content can reach young children.”

He added, “Our job was to file a complaint. Now, it is up to the police and authorities to take action. Let’s see how responsibly they handle this matter.”
