Selection Process
Written Test
Preliminary Examination- The preliminary examination will consist of a single paper of 200 marks, with a total of 100 questions. The duration of the exam will be 2 (two) hours.
The paper will contain questions related to General Knowledge and Current Affairs. Candidates scoring less than 30 percent marks will be declared unsuccessful for the main examination. Based on the marks obtained in the preliminary exam, successful candidates up to 20 times the number of vacancies will be selected in order of merit, following the reservation quota. In case an adequate number of qualified candidates is not available for the main written examination, this ratio may be suitably reduced.
Depending on the number of applications received for the advertisement, the examination may be conducted in more than one shift. For evaluation of multi-shift/multi-paper examinations, normalized marks will be calculated using the Equi-Percentile Method.
Main Examination
Candidates who qualify in the Preliminary Examination will be given the opportunity to appear in the Main Examination. The Main Examination will consist of two papers:
The first paper will be of General Hindi, carrying 200 marks, with a duration of 2 hours. It will have 100 questions. It is mandatory to score at least 30% marks in this paper; otherwise, the candidate will be declared ineligible. The marks obtained in the General Hindi paper will not be added to the merit determination.
The second paper will be related to General Studies, General Science, Civics, Indian History, Indian Geography, Mathematics, and Mental Ability Test. This paper will carry 200 marks, consist of 100 questions, and will have a duration of 2 hours.
In both stages of the examination, 0.2 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. The answer sheet will be in two copies, one of which will be kept by the Commission for record.
On the basis of the Main Written Examination, candidates six times the number of vacancies will be selected, category-wise, for the Physical Efficiency Test. It will be necessary for candidates to simply qualify in the Physical Efficiency Test. If a sufficient number of qualified candidates are not available for the Physical Efficiency Test, the ratio may be suitably reduced.
