50% DA will Merge in Basic Salary of Central Government Employees and Pensioners

DA payable to the employee and pensioners by the government. Dearness allowance is given to the employee twice every year, which is added on 1st January and 1st July. Currently the DA is 53% of the basic salary. But under the seventh pay commission if DA reached to 50% then it will be added to the basic salary, but now DA is 53% and still not added in the basic salary.

In July 2024 3% DA given by the government to the employee and DA reached 53%.

How Much DA will Increase in January 2025?

According to the report there is a possibility to increase 3-4% DA in January 2025, after which the total allowance will increase to 56%.

50% DA Will Merged in Basic Salary or Not?

According to the pay commission rule if DA reached up to 50% then it should have been added to the basic salary. In 5th pay commission when DA reached 50% then that time government added 50% DA to the basic salary. But this time the government has not talked about to merge DA even not thinking. All employees and pensioners are waiting for the update regarding DA merger from the government side.

If 50% DA will merge, then salary will increase by this much

Under the 7th pay commission, the central government employees’ basic salary is 18000 and if 50% DA will merge then 18000+9000= 27,000, so 27000 will be the basic salary of the employees.
