Microsoft just renamed office on everyone’s PCs

Micro soft said that it is now including Copilot AI features to its Microsoft 365 suite for individual consumer

Back in December, Microsoft announced plans to rebrand its productivity suite from “Microsoft 365 Office” to “Microsoft 365 Copilot.” Many people didn’t like the idea, but Microsoft has decided to move forward with the rebranding. Now, the apps are being updated to focus more on the “Copilot” brand.

Microsoft 365 Office is now Microsoft 365 Copilot

According to Windows Latest, Microsoft is updating its Office apps to have a more Copilot-focused design. This includes replacing the blue hexagon Microsoft 365 Office logo with the Copilot logo, which will feature a small “M365” tag in the bottom right corner.

Microsoft Office has already had a few name changes, and now it’s going through another one. The main reason? Microsoft is focusing heavily on its AI initiatives. Recently, Microsoft 365 users learned that subscription prices are increasing for the first time in 13 years because the company is adding Copilot integration directly into the base plan instead of offering it separately as Copilot Pro.

This rebranding might be just the beginning. Microsoft has even updated its logo to align with Copilot, signaling that it wants people to think of the suite as a Copilot-powered app first and a productivity app second. The big question is whether users will accept AI tools taking priority over basic features. Only time will tell, but if the plan doesn’t work, Microsoft might face yet another round of rebranding.
