Burnt Notes Found Outside Justice Yashwant Verma’s House
A new twist has emerged in the case related to Justice Yashwant Verma of the Delhi High Court. The Chief Justice of Delhi High Court has submitted a report to the Supreme Court, which includes pictures of burnt currency notes found outside Justice Verma’s house.
Burnt Notes Discovered Outside the Judge’s House
A team from NDMC (New Delhi Municipal Council) went to clean the area near Justice Verma’s bungalow on Sunday, March 23, 2025. While working, they found more burnt ₹500 notes in the garbage.
A cleaning worker, Surendra, revealed that he has been finding burnt ₹500 notes in the garbage for the last 4-5 days. He said,
“Even today, we found burnt 500-rupee notes while cleaning the area.”
Another worker, Indrajeet, who collects garbage from nearby streets, also confirmed this. He said,
“A few days ago, while cleaning, we found small burnt pieces of ₹500 notes. Today, we found 1-2 pieces again. We don’t know how the fire started, we just collect the garbage.”
Justice Yashwant Verma Transferred to Allahabad High Court
The controversy began when a fire broke out at Justice Verma’s residential bungalow, and later, reports surfaced about a huge amount of cash being recovered from the house.
The incident caused a major uproar in the judiciary, prompting Chief Justice of India (CJI) Sanjeev Khanna to take immediate action. A three-member committee has been formed to investigate the matter.
In response, the Supreme Court Collegium held a meeting and decided to transfer Justice Yashwant Verma to the Allahabad High Court. The investigation is still ongoing, and more details are expected to emerge in the coming days.

एक सफाई कर्मचारी, सुरेंद्र, ने बताया कि पिछले 4-5 दिनों से उन्हें जले हुए ₹500 के नोट कूड़े में मिल रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा,
“आज भी हमें सफाई करते समय जले हुए 500 रुपये के नोट मिले।”
वहीं, इंद्रजीत, जो आसपास की सड़कों से कचरा इकट्ठा करते हैं, ने भी इसकी पुष्टि की। उन्होंने कहा,
“कुछ दिन पहले सफाई के दौरान हमें ₹500 के जले हुए छोटे-छोटे टुकड़े मिले थे। आज फिर 1-2 टुकड़े मिले हैं। हमें नहीं पता कि आग कैसे लगी, हम सिर्फ कूड़ा इकट्ठा करते हैं।”

यह विवाद तब शुरू हुआ जब न्यायमूर्ति वर्मा के आवासीय बंगले में आग लग गई, और इसके बाद घर से बड़ी मात्रा में नकदी बरामद होने की खबरें सामने आईं।
इस घटना ने न्यायपालिका में हलचल मचा दी, जिसके बाद भारत के मुख्य न्यायाधीश (CJI) संजीव खन्ना ने तुरंत कार्रवाई की। इस मामले की जांच के लिए तीन सदस्यीय समिति का गठन किया गया है।
इस मामले को गंभीरता से लेते हुए, सुप्रीम कोर्ट कॉलेजियम की बैठक हुई, जिसमें न्यायमूर्ति यशवंत वर्मा का स्थानांतरण इलाहाबाद हाईकोर्ट में करने का फैसला लिया गया।
